Overview of Policy
This Privacy Policy (this “Privacy Policy”) is provided by UOMI™ (also hereinafter as “we” or “us” or “our”), a company located in the Province of Quebec, Canada. When you, a user of the UOMI™ Mobile Application (the “App”) accesses or use the App, we collect some personal and non-personal information from you. Some of this information is collected automatically when you access the App while other information is submitted by you willingly. This Policy further describes our practices regarding how we process this information, including the method of collection, use, disclosures, and security methods.
By using the App and the services provided through it, you agree to the processing of your personal information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree with the way we process your information, you are not permitted to use the App.
The Information We Collect about you
When you use the App, we collect some categories of information from you, which are personal and non-personal information. These categories of information can be collected through the following means:
(a) Personal Information through Registration:
This is personal information that you willingly submit when you request for a user account through the App. Personal information is any information collected that can be used to directly identify a user. The personal information that you submit via registration include, your First and Last Names, Email Address, Phone Number, and Country/location.
(b) Non-Personal Information:
When users download and access the App, we obtain some non-personal information, which our programmed software collects automatically. Non-personal information is information that cannot be used to directly identify a user. The non-personal information we collect include IP Address (Internet Protocol Address), ISP (Internet Service Provider), Device Type and OS (Operating System), and Cookie information (defined below).
(c) Information you consent to:
On some occasions, UOMI™ may ask for your consent to obtain some information stored on your device such as your SIM contact lists, their phone number, and email address (where applicable). We can only gain access to this kind of information if you consent to it by granting the App permission whenever applicable.
(d)Social Media Information:
There may be an option on the App to connect your Facebook account to the App. This feature, among other things, allows us to easily provide sign up or login features to users, offer some features to the App, and gain access to some certain features. When you login or sign up for the App services through the Facebook plugin on the App, we will have access to some of your personal information such as name, email address, profile picture, and other public information. By clicking on the social media plugin on the App, you agree to our use of the personal information obtained therefrom. If you do not wish to share your social media information, you should go through the permission in privacy settings on your Facebook account. Other rights and choices may also be learned on Facebook.
How UOMI™ uses the Information Collected
We do not collect information about you unless we need them to provide the App. The different categories of information collected may be used for the following purposes:
(a) The personal information we collect such as your name, email address, and phone number is used to identify who you are (for KYC); to respond to your request or contact you whenever we need to; and to provide you the App effectively and efficiently.
(b) The non-personal information we collect such as IP Address, Device OS, Browser Type, ISP, and location are used to track some activities about you which, in turn, helps us to improve some features; conduct business analysis; identify your interests; tailor adverts to you; enforce our Terms and Conditions; and comply with applicable laws.
(c) We request permission to your phone contact numbers in order to perform the primary function of the App – to help you easily process reminders and send SMS to your friends.
How UOMI™ shares Information
The information we hold about you will only be disclosed or shared under the following circumstances:
(a) Third Party Service Providers: Third Party Service Providers (“Service Providers”) are third party contractors, companies, or individuals that perform some tasks on our behalf. Each Service Provider may need access to some of your information to carry out the individual task we have hired them to do. However, the information we disclose to Service providers are used solely to perform the task each Service Provider is hired for. They do not have our permission to do otherwise as they are mandated to sign a confidentiality agreement.
(b) Compulsion of Law: UOMI™ may disclose your personal information if we believe such disclosure is appropriate such as to investigate, prevent, or take necessary action against any form of illegal activities such as fraud and other wrongful acts; To protect and ensure the safety of UOMI™ and other users; to enforce our Terms and Conditions and other agreements established by us; To comply with applicable laws; To respond to a subpoena, court order, or other similar investigative summonses by law enforcement; To establish our legal rights; and To secure against legal claims.
(c) Business Transfers: Business transfers implies circumstances such as a business or asset sale, merger, acquisition, or consolidation between UOMI™ and another entity. Should any of these circumstances occur, we will not have any option but to disclose information with us. Under a business transfer disclosure, this Policy or the privacy policy of the merging, acquiring, or consolidating company will govern the collection of your information.
In the event that the App does not conform to the applicable warranty, you have the right to report to the applicable App Distributor, and the App Distributor shall refund the purchase price, if any, (as set forth in its terms and conditions), paid for the App, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, an App Distributor will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, expenses or costs attributable to any failure to obey any warranty will be UOMI™’s sole responsibility.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
When you access the App, we try to ensure your access is meaningful and smooth. This is why we send cookies to your device automatically to track some activities about you. Among other uses, we send cookies to accelerate your use of the App, to identify you when you revisit the App, and know your preferences, behaviors, and interests so as to send adverts that we believe matches your interest.
The types of cookies we use are session and persistence cookies. A session cookie only lasts for a session of the App use and expires when you close the App. The persistent cookie, on the other hand, lasts much longer and is used to improve your user experience.
Although UOMI™ is responsible for most of the cookies sent to your device, there are other cookies that are being set by Service Providers who carry out activities on our behalf.
You have the right to deactivate cookies that are set to your device by going through your device settings. However, note that when you block cookies from being sent to your device, some parts of the App may not function as they should. You take liability for any malfunction of the App due to your blocking of cookies.

Security of Information
We recognize the value of the personal information you share with us; therefore, we take great measures in ensuring it is safe and secure from third party access and theft. We use the current technologies and physical measures to safeguard any information we collect. UOMI™ does not share or disclose your information unless it is as discussed under “above. However, you are aware that no matter how current and strong the security measures employed is, it is not a 100% guarantee that the information will be safe. UOMI™, therefore, cannot guarantee you that only persons authorized to access your information will access or use it. You hereby release UOMI™ of all liability claims arising from loss of information due to theft (unless it is as a result of our negligence).
Although we have the obligation to keep your personal information as safe as possible, you also have the responsibility of keeping your login details confidential. Please, endeavor to notify UOMI™ via the email address below if you sense a third party attempt login to your account.

Marketing
When you submit your email address to us during registration, you automatically grant us the right to send you messages such as offers, updates, promotions, and adverts which we believe may interest you (collectively, “”). UOMI™ will continue to send you these Marketing Emails for as long as you use the App and you do not show any interest to opt-out of receiving them. However, you may opt-out of Marketing Emails by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link/button in any Marketing Email from UOMI™. Please, note that opting-out of Marketing Emails may not include important notices such as updates, changes, and modifications to this Policy, our Terms and Conditions, and a portion of the App or services.
User Content
UOMI™ provides certain areas on the App where users can upload or post content such as images, texts, comments, etc. (collectively, “”). You acknowledge that some of the User Contents uploaded to the App is public and any personal information attached to such User Content can be obtained by other users and search engine users. UOMI™ advises all users to be cautious of the kind of personal information they attach to their User Contents. We will not be held liable for any loss or damage that emanates from your negligence in connection to the foregoing.
Special Rights of Users
You have the below rights over the information we collect about you as a user of the App:
(a) Right to Termination: You may request for the termination and deletion of your user account and personal data / personal information at any time. You may exercise this right by going through the settings area of your user profile or by reaching out to UOMI™ via info@uomiapp.com.
(b) Right to Modification: You may modify the personal information we hold about you at any time. To exercise this right, you may also go through the settings area of your user profile.
Modifications to this Policy
We reserve the right, at any time, to modify, update, or change a portion of this Policy as new developments arise. Any modification to this Policy shall commence when the Effective Date above changes. Notices regarding modifications may be communicated to you via your email address (at our discretion). We advise you to frequently revise this Policy in order to watch out for possible modifications. By your continued use of the App after any modification to this Policy, you consent to our privacy practices.
Children Policy
The App is not designed for people who are below the age of majority. We do not knowingly accept personal information from users who are below 18 years of age (or 16 in some locations). By using the App, you represent to UOMI that you have attained the legal age of majority in your location.
Third Party Contents
The App may occasionally contain adverts and other content from third party companies (“”). The contents of these Adverts have not been checked by UOMI™ and therefore we cannot guarantee that they are accurate and complete, or that the privacy practices of these companies are up to standard. We advise you to read the privacy practices of any company’s Advert available on the App. You hereby release UOMI™ of all claims, losses, and damages arising as a result of the Adverts you accessed via the App.
California Privacy Rights
The California Civil Code 1798.3, commonly known as “Shine the Light” law, permits users that are located in the state of California, United States to request personal information about them which UOMI released to third party affiliates for direct marketing purposes once in a year. If this law applies to you, the information listed shall include the categories of the personal information in the immediate past year calendar.
